DRS contracts for trailer welding

LEBANON, Mo., March 11 (UPI) -- DRS Technologies has contracted U.S. company Detroit Tool Metal Products to provide ammunition-trailer frame-welding services.

DTMP, a full-service precision metal-stamping services company, was contracted by DRS Technologies to provide weldments for the M989A1 Heavy Expanded Mobility Ammunition Trailer frames.

Under the $1.4 million contract, DTMP will support the welding requirements for the ammunition-trailer frames at its Missouri and Iowa facilities.

"We are just getting into the defense business," Tim Megge, DTMP vice president, said in a statement.

"We have capabilities that are well-suited for most defense contractors, and we are actively seeking additional opportunities."
