TriQuint completes initial F-35 order

HILLSBORO, Ore., March 10 (UPI) -- TriQuint Semiconductor has completed its initial support work for the F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft's radar system.

U.S. company and radio-frequency technologies developer TriQuint is under contract by Northrop Grumman Corp. to support the radar system for the F-35 Lightning II, a fighter-aircraft program led by Lockheed Martin.

TriQuint announced it completed the initial order to supply Northrop Grumman with power amplifiers, gallium arsenide devices, bulk acoustic wave filters and other technologies for the phased array radar system on the F-35 Lightning II, a multi-role stealth fighter aircraft.

"TriQuint shipped a variety of production devices in 2008 and remains actively engaged in meeting our customer's needs for high-quality components," Gailon Brehm, TriQuint director of defense and aerospace products marketing, said in a statement.

"As we ship devices and as the program moves closer to full production, we expect multimillion-dollar revenues. It's exciting to be part of a process that is producing a truly superior aircraft to defend free nations across the globe."
