Air Force contracts for sensor evaluations

PASADENA, Calif., March 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to provide evaluation support for sensor-exploitation technologies.

U.S. company Jacobs was awarded the contract from the Ohio-based Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensors Directorate. Under the $19.7 million Sensors Technology Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Open-Ended Broad Agency Announcement deal, Jacobs will provide third-party independent evaluation of sensor technologies.


Officials said the evaluations would include sensor design and development performance along with other assessment services.

"This contract provides an excellent opportunity for us to build upon our longstanding relationship with the Air Force Research Laboratory," Craig Martin, Jacobs president and chief executive, said in a statement.

"Services we provide under this contract will help to push the state-of-the-art and enhance mission-critical sensor exploitation."
