Agility to manage aviation fuel in Guam

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency has contracted Agility to support the Defense Department's aviation-fuel requirements in Guam and the Pacific Rim.

U.S. company Agility said its joint venture with Tristar Transport, Tristar Terminals LLC, was awarded the DLA Defense Energy Support Center contract. Under the five-year, approximately $32 million deal, Tristar Terminals will store and support distribution operations of more than 1.2 million barrels of the Defense Department's jet fuel in Guam and the Pacific area of responsibility.

"Tristar Terminals has built a team that the DESC can rely on to provide the efficient and dependable fuel-storage and shipping services required to support the U.S. military's needs in Guam and throughout the Pacific Rim," Dan Mongeon, Agility Defense and Government Services president and chief executive, said in a statement.
