Singapore contracts for video surveillance

OTTAWA, March 2 (UPI) -- The Singapore Land Transport Authority has contracted March Networks to provide its video surveillance technology for installation at 51 train stations.

Canada-based Internet Protocol video technologies developer March Networks was contracted by the Singapore Land Transport Authority to deliver its VideoSphere system for integration at 51 train stations in the North-South and East-West transit network run by SMRT Corp.

The VideoSphere is an advanced video surveillance technology that can be deployed on IP or hybrid video networks to support security initiatives.

"Organizations such as Land Transport Authority and SMRT continue to focus on providing a secure environment for their passengers and staff," Peter Strom, March Networks president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"Our VideoSphere solution enables them to accomplish that goal by preserving their existing surveillance investments and providing the latest IP video capabilities in one integrated, high-performance system."
