Unisys awarded ENCORE II follow-on

BLUE BELL, Pa., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted Unisys to provide information technology services for the administration of unclassified and classified networks.

U.S. company Unisys was awarded the contract from the Army Logistics Innovation Agency as part of a Defense Information Systems Agency ENCORE II contract vehicle. Under the follow-on deal, worth $7.1 million if all options are exercised, Unisys will continue to provide IT services in support of the Army Logistics Innovation Agency mission to improve military logistics processes.

Officials say Unisys, which has been contracted by the Army Logistics Innovation Agency since 1999, will support network administration and teleconferencing, along with other IT requirements.

"This award represents a continuation of our longstanding relationship with the U.S. Army Logistics Innovation Agency, providing support to its mission to continually improve military readiness through innovative logistics technology," Jim Geiger, Unisys Federal Systems Defense Department managing partner, said in a statement.
