The Marine Rifle Squad, Machine Gun Squad and other Marine Corps units used the MRTB as an observation and targeting device for reconnaissance and surveillance missions.

"Our system includes upgrades in the latest Raytheon Vision Systems microbolometer detector technology, which provides double the resolution of earlier models," Mike Allgeier, Raytheon Operations and Precision Components vice president, said in a statement.

"This allows Marines to see at a greater distance with better identification capability and gives our troops a decided advantage on the battlefield."
