KBR to support Army bulk fuel operations

HOUSTON, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has contracted KBR for the company to support fuel farm operations near Shuiba Port and Camp Buehring in Kuwait.

U.S. company KBR was awarded the deal from the Army Contracting Command. Under the $19.2 million award, KBR will provide bulk fuel farm support for the Army in Kuwait, including fuel transfer and inventory management services, among other requirements.

"KBR is pleased with the opportunity to continue providing mission support to the U.S. Army in Kuwait," Bruce Stanski, KBR government and infrastructure president, said in a statement.

"With a proven track record of serving the U.S. military as a government contractor for over 60 years, I am confident we can successfully continue to support this and other projects alongside the U.S. Army."

Officials say the bulk fuel work is scheduled to begin in March.
