LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- NEC Sphere Communications has partnered with Science Applications International Corp. to deliver a new communication tool for military applications.
U.S. companies NEC Sphere and SAIC announced the partnership to deliver the GeoViz, a Web-centric geospatial collaboration tool suite.
Officials say the GeoViz tool combines NEC Sphere's Unified Communications software with SAIC's service-oriented architecture to offer to military and emergency response decision-makers 2-dimensional, 3-D and 4-D views of geographic areas. The advanced visual and communication tool is designed to ensure greater situational awareness.
"GeoViz customers can now securely and reliably collaborate in emergency response scenarios without having to think about dialing, radio channels and other complexities -- at a time when instant communications is imperative," Todd Landry, NEC Sphere Communications senior vice president, said in a statement.
