HERNDON, Va., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Italian defense company Finmeccanica announced it has joined the Transglobal Secure Collaboration Program as a platinum member.
TSCP is a global collaborative organization with private sector and government partners, including the U.S. Defense Department, the British Ministry of Defense along with Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and BAE among others. TSCP announced Finmeccanica has joined the group.
Members of TSCP all contribute to mission-critical programs by sharing classified and other secured information in a forum protected from cyber terrorism and other threats.
"This partnership reflects significant progress in the development of one standard set of requirements for industry-wide secure collaboration and information-sharing," Keith Ward, TSCP chairman, said in a statement.
"With Finmeccanica on board, we're one step closer to eliminating various stand-alone solutions that are ultimately unsustainable for the industry."
