LONDON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Plasan received a top honor during a recent conference in London for its ballistic protection technologies deployed on a Lockheed Martin vehicle.
Israel-based Plasan says it received a first-place award at a London conference on light and medium armored vehicle technologies for its armor protections integrated into the Lockheed Martin Adaptive Vehicle Architecture mine resistant ambush protected vehicle.
Plasan says its armor development integrated with the Lockheed Martin AVA cab is designed to offer soldiers increased protections from ballistic threats in combat zones.
"With the AVA, Plasan and Lockheed Martin have created an armored vehicle that balances performance, payload and protection," Dani Ziv, Plasan chief executive officer, said in a statement.
"The innovations contained within it raise the expectations of what was believed to be possible from a light armored vehicle."
