The turret kits, which have been deployed on a range of military vehicles including the Bradley fighting vehicle and the M1 Abrams main battle tank, among others, are designed to shield military personnel from incoming attacks in the close environment of urban combat.

"The proven design of our Marine Corps Transparent Armored Gun Shield provides direct vision while providing protection against blast fragmentation and small arms fire to the crew while in the turret," Ann Hoholick, BAE Systems vice president Amphibious Vehicles & Armor Kits, said in a statement.
