LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. company Boeing has contracted Ducommun Inc. for the delivery of main and tail rotor blades for the AH-64 Apache helicopter.
California-based Ducommun says its subsidiary Ducommun AeroStructures Inc. was awarded the deal. Under the follow-on contract, DAS will continue to deliver Apache helicopter parts to support original production orders and provide replacement blades for the Apache program through 2010.
Boeing officials say the DAS parts will go to support the AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter variant and other Apache production contracts.
"We are pleased by the award of these follow-on contracts, which affirm our long-term commitment to the Apache program and highlight our growing capability to produce complex flight control assemblies, including the Apache main and tail rotor blades," Joseph Berenato, Ducommun chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
