BVR contracted for avionics training

ROSH HAAYIN , Israel, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Israel-based BVR Systems Ltd. has been contracted for its defense avionics training technologies in an award worth $2.9 million.

BVR, a defense training and simulation systems developer, says a European defense contractor has licensed its Embedded Virtual Avionics patents.

Under the $2.9 million award, the unnamed company will have worldwide, non-exclusive rights to use BVR's Embedded Virtual Avionics technologies. Officials say the licensing deal may be expanded in the future to include additional training offerings from BVR.

"We are very pleased by this agreement," Ilan Gillies, BVR chief executive officer, said in a statement.

"This award is a further achievement in our long-term strategy to capture a major share in the rapidly evolving global embedded training market, and an additional recognition of the added value of our unique Internet protocol."
