Telos appoints former DMDC director

ASHBURN, Va., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Virginia-based Telos Corp. announced it has named a new senior vice president of identity and security solutions to address evolving security challenges.

Telos is an information technology solutions provider for the U.S. Defense Department among other government agencies. The company announced former director of the Defense Manpower Data Center, Robert Brandewie, has been named to the senior vice president of identity and security solutions job.

"Robbie's previous professional experience and leadership skills will be great assets to the Telos identity management team," John Wood, Telos chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "His expertise makes him well qualified to lead Telos' efforts in the area of identity and security solutions."

Officials say Brandewie, also the former public sector solutions group vice president for ActivIdentity Corp., will direct the Telos' efforts in "assisting government organizations in effectively meeting increased security challenges with innovative services and software solutions," the release said.

As director of the DMDC, Brandewie was an architect of the Defense Department's common access smart card system among other personnel security initiatives.

"My experience managing large-scale, complex government projects such as the CAC program will help Telos deliver excellent service for its government clients," Brandewie said. "This past knowledge can be leveraged to assist Telos' customers as they plan their identity management initiatives."
