ATLANTA, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Atlanta-based VT Griffin announced Michael Kapp has been named the company's new president.
Kapp has been promoted from executive vice president and chief operating officer at VT Griffin to president. Officials say Kapp will also serve as a key management member on the board of directors for VT Group's aerospace and defense operating segment VT Services Inc. among other assignments.
VT Griffin is a provider of base operations, logistics, engineering, construction, mobilization and contingency support services for the defense and commercial markets.
Company officials say Kapp, who prior to coming to VT Griffin was vice president and chief financial officer of Lockheed Martin Aircraft and Logistics Centers, will be responsible for the company's continued successful growth Defense Department agencies and civilian organizations.
"Mike brings tremendous leadership expertise and depth of knowledge in the government industry to this role," Kenneth Smith, VT Services chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We are looking forward to continued innovations and dedication to service and support of our customers' mission with Mike at the helm."
