InterScan Web Security Appliance features URL Filtering and applet security in a real-time Web environment. The No. 1 infection vector for malware has increasingly come from Web sites. Officials say with the InterScan Web Security Appliance Web pages are assessed based on both behavior and content.

"Protecting against Web threats is a key challenge for enterprise organizations," said Tom Miller, vice president and general manager of Trend Micro Enterprise business unit, in a statement. "Robust, easy to manage security that provides a proactive solution to these insidious attacks is needed. InterScan Web Security Appliance clearly fits this need."

Malware has traditionally come from a single payload. But hackers and other cyber threats have recently packaged malware to download multiple components without the victims' knowledge.

Company officials say the InterScan Web Security Appliance, using a multi-pronged approach to security threats, is equipped to handle the increase security threat.
