PITTSBURGH, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has contracted Michael Baker Jr. Inc. for professional architectural and engineering services.
Michael Baker Jr. is the engineering unit of Pennsylvania-based Michael Baker Corp. Baker provides services that span the life cycle of infrastructures and managed asset projects.
The company announced it signed an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Master Services Agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard for a potential $50 million value over 10 years.
The first year of the contract will have a $5 million ceiling but include a nine-year option.
Under the contract, Baker will provide architectural and engineering services to existing facilities for modification and renovation. The company will also perform structural assessment and analysis, review of project designs, environmental services and site survey services.
Additionally, Baker will be responsible for designing and overseeing construction for new residential, light commercial, waterfront and aviation facilities.
