Dec. 24 (UPI) -- A Maryland couple who were early for a Christmas party ended up winning their third major prize from the Maryland Lottery's Keno game.
Sandra and Jack Sutton visited Maryland Lottery headquarters Dec. 19 to collect Sandra's $12,517 Keno jackpot, which came after Jack twice collected $5,000 jackpots.
"We were headed to a Christmas party but were early, so we stopped at a restaurant where some of our friends play," Sandra Sutton told lottery officials.
She said she only occasionally glanced at the screen while talking to a friend.
"Whenever I glanced over, I saw one of my numbers," Sandra said. "After a while I said to myself, 'Just how many matches do I have?'"
Sutton said her husband could read the expression on her face.
"You did it, didn't you?" she recalled him asking.
The couple said they plan to put the winnings into savings. They said they plan to continue to play Keno in search of more jackpots.
