Coulter slams Michelle Obama in book

NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter says in her new book that Michelle Obama, wife of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, has questionable style.

In "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and their Assault on America," Coulter calls the incoming first lady's style a freakish imitation of the late first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

"Her obvious imitation of Jackie O's style -- the flipped-under hair, the sleeveless A-line dresses, the short strands of fake pearls -- would have been laughable if done by anyone other than a media-designated saint," Coulter writes about Obama in comparison to Kennedy Onassis, who was the wife of the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy.

The political media pundit had a friendlier take on the wife of Barack Obama's electoral opponent, U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

The Daily News said, according to Coulter's book, Cindy McCain "dressed well without freakishly imitating famous first ladies in history."
