July 31 (UPI) -- Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was laid to rest in a private funeral service Saturday near his home in Palos Verdes, Calif.
Bennington's family, bandmates and friends attended the service along with other musicians who have toured with Linkin Park, TMZ reported.
Police provided security for the event while each attendee was given yellow wrist bands featuring Bennington's name and a VIP-style pass featuring a photo of the rock star performing on stage.
A stage with a drum kit was also set up for musical tributes to Bennington, Us Weekly reported.
Of Mice & Men lead singer Austin Carlile attended the service and shared on Instagram a photo featuring the VIP-style pass. "The service today was beautiful. Thank you Linkin Park, thank you Chester. For everything," he wrote.
Bennington was discovered dead earlier in July inside his residence at Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed that the 41-year-old hanged himself from a bedroom door.
