VIENNA, Va., May 11 (UPI) -- AT&T announced Wednesday it has been awarded a U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency contract worth up to $74.6 million over five years.

The contract involves the company providing secure telecom services in support of Defense Department aircraft and ground stations for senior leadership in the United States and around the globe, according to a release announcing the contract.

To support the government's restricted-use high-frequency communications platform, AT&T will provide long-haul telecommunications as well as related transmission circuits.
