URS providing support for military training ranges

Tactical training ranges for Navy and Marine pilots getting engineering support from URS Corporation.

SAN FRANCISCO, April 29 (UPI) -- Engineering and technical services company URS Corporation has been tapped to support U.S. Navy Combined Tactical Training Range systems and equipment.

The services are being provided under a five-year, maximum $343 million, task order from the U.S. Department of Defense. They will be performed at Naval Air Stations, Marine Corps Air Stations and Naval Air Facilities throughout the country.

“URS is proud to support U.S. Naval and Marine Corps aviators,” said Randall A. Wotring, president of Federal Services for URS. “With the addition of CTTR to our range portfolio, URS is a leading open-air training service provider for the Department of Defense.”

Under the task order announced on Tuesday, URS will provide mission support for Combined Tactical Training Range scheduled missions, maintenance support to ensure availability and longevity of training range systems and capabilities, and engineering and configuration management for training range systems.

Additional details of the task order were not disclosed.
