A prime contract for the services in support of FirstNet was issued by California's Office of Emergency Services. It has a two-year period of performance with a one-year option and is worth a total of $440,000.

"SAIC is uniquely positioned to support the planning and eventual build of FirstNet given the companies deep history and expertise in the various technologies, networking and integration," said Robert Genter, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the Emerging Markets Customer Group. "We are pleased to be providing the support to select states and agencies in the initial phase.

"California is an important customer as their success is essential to the national success of this critical infrastructure."

Under the contract, SAIC will provide planning and outreach support services, including public safety broadband outreach and education planning; engagement and coordination of stakeholders; and conduct of presentations, town halls, and webinars that advise the Office of Emergency Services on FirstNet legislation.
