FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- German engine-maker Tognum AG, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce Plc and Daimler AG since March, is now operating under the name of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
Tognum's main subsidiary is MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH and name changing affects Tognum and MTU subsidiaries as well. Tognum America Inc., which is based in Novi, Mich., will now operate as MTU America Inc. Tognum Asia Pte Ltd, which is based in Singapore, will operate under the new name of MTU Asia Pte Ltd.
"The new name Rolls-Royce Power Systems reflects the close industrial ties to Rolls-Royce," said Dr. Ulrich Dohle, chairman of the executive board and chief executive officer of Tognum. At the same time, our owners Rolls-Royce and Daimler, have clearly affirmed their commitment to our traditional brands of MTU, MTU Onsite Energy and L'Orange."
The company's products include MTU high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, for heavy land, rail and defense vehicles; MTU Onsite Energy diesel generation sets for emergency, base load and peak load applications and L'Orange fuel injection systems for large engines.
