FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has selected General Dynamics Information Technology to provide information technology management support in Afghanistan.
Under the 18-month task order, the company will support the organization's reconstruction and infrastructure development programs by installing, managing and upgrading IT systems. It will also train users of unclassified IT systems and perform help-desk services.
"General Dynamics has been supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than five years," said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology's National and Homeland Security division. "We are proud to provide the corps with continuous information management and information technology support while they conduct critical drawdown operations in Afghanistan."
The task order comes under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 Services contract, which the company won in 2006. The contract is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The value of the task order is potentially $16 million, the company said.
