CACI, Par to support Army intelligence

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has tapped two U.S. companies to provide support services under task order contracts for capabilities to meet emerging intelligence requirements.

The first, from the Army's Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate, was given to CACI International Inc. for obtaining new tools and systems for collecting and exploiting passive and active signals intelligence as part of the directorate's quick reaction capability.

"CACI's continuing work for the U.S. Army reinforces our proven solutions and services for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance within the C4ISR [command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance] arena," said John Mengucci, CACI's chief operating officer and president of U.S. operations. "Our team will provide quick-reaction support for the Army in developing innovative technologies that deliver intelligence our troops can use to dominate the battlespace."

The company's selection for the prime contract also reinforces its growth strategy in the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance market area, it said.

The task order is for a one-year period with a one-year extension. Its value is $40 million.
