WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Variant-specific phase maintenance kits for Black Hawk helicopters have been introduced by Sikorsky Aerospace Services.
The kits are for legacy UH-60A and UH-60L helicopters, as well as for the UH-60M and the newest international variant of the Black Hawk, the S-70i.
"We are continually looking at ways to enhance service to our operators," said David Adler, president of Sikorsky Aerospace Services. "These kits are equipped with the latest configuration parts and accurate quantities to help streamline phase maintenance.
"Based on feedback from our field service personnel and on-site maintainers, we have grouped required components to correspond to specific maintenance sequences. This helps technicians work more quickly and efficiently."
Sikorsky Aerospace Services is the after-market business of Sikorsky Aircraft.
The company said the kits are for 360-flight-hour preventative maintenance inspection and 760 flight-hour preventative maintenance inspection. They contain all original equipment manufacturer-approved parts.
Sikorsky announced the kits at the annual meeting and exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army.
