MIRABEL, Quebec, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The Canadian government is giving financial support to a local subsidiary of Europe's EADS group to establish a facility in the country.
The support to Aerolia Canada Inc. is a repayable financial contribution of more than $2.3 million and was awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
"By helping Aerolia Canada establish operations on Quebec soil, our government is giving recognition once again to the fundamental role businesses play in economic growth and job creation," said Denis Lebel, minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec.
Aerolia specializes in the design and manufacture of equipped aircraft fuselages.
Canada said its investment in Aerolia Canada will enable the company to establish the plant and fuselage test bed to supply the central fuselage for Bombardier's Global 7000 and Global 8000 family of corporate jets.
Bombardier is a Canadian company.
