PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Erickson Air-Crane Inc. has announced a master agreement with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to provide fabricated aircraft assemblies.
The contract is worth $5.6 million. Details on the length of the contract and product details were not provided.
"By extending our capabilities beyond the company's core fleet, we will implement a strategy that leverages our expertise, infrastructure, and manufacturing capacity," said Udo Rieder, Erickson's chief executive officer. "Erickson's close working relationship with Sikorsky is supported by our unique capabilities in manufacturing, engineering, and design.
"The recent acquisitions of Evergreen Helicopters and Air Amazonia (by Erickson) demonstrate our heritage as experts in heavy-lift helicopters, and position us as an excellent partner across a number of important platforms."
Erickson Air-Crane is an aviation manufacturer, aftermarket provider and original equipment manufacturer. It operates 91 rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, including a fleet of 20 heavy-lift Sikorsky S-64 Aircranes in support of government and commercial customers around the world.
