ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 19 (UPI) -- An information console that provides police and other first-responders with integrated, incident information in real time has been introduced by Motorola.
According to the U.S. electronics company, the Real-Time Intelligence Console inputs and integrates information from multiple sources -- video surveillance systems, alarm and sensor systems, computer-aided dispatch, two-way radio voice systems, databases and records systems to help in direct deployment of resources.
Third-party applications can also be integrated to proactively identify incidents as they occur.
"Police departments have access to so much data and information, but making it actionable in real time is a challenge," said David Thomas, solutions vice president, Motorola Global Solutions and Services. "The Real-Time Intelligence Console is the cornerstone of the Motorola Real-Time Crime Center solution bringing together multiple sources of information into a single operational view that can equip responding officers with better information for improved decision-making and incident response."
The Real Time Intelligence Console, part of the company's Real-Time Crime Center solution for instant information access, can be customized for a specific law enforcement agency's information needs and resources, use the agency's existing mapping tool to plot an incident and relevant information from sensors, alarms, cameras or deployed resources to enhance situational awareness.
Motorola is displaying the system this week in California at the APCO conference and exhibition of the global law enforcement communications industry.
