ABM, Derichebourg support services for air station

NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Base operation services support for the U.S. Navy's air station in Sigonella, Italy, is to be provided through a partnership between a U.S. and European firm.

New York-headquartered ABM Government Services and Derichebourg Multi-Services, a business division of The Derichebourg Group of France, will provide a full list of facility services for the air station and for others on the island of Sicily, including labor, materials, transportation and incidental engineering.

The contract is a multiyear, multimillion-dollar award but additional information was not released.

"In an increasingly competitive market, we're proud that the Department of the Navy has once again chosen to partner with ABM on this comprehensive contract," ABM Government Services President Les Cunningham said. "Our team under this joint venture is well-equipped to ensure that day-to-day service requirements are met in a prompt and professional manner across the base.

"We look forward to partnering with Derichebourg to provide world-class support for our military personnel."
