Navy taps Wyle for support services

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 25 (UPI) -- Wyle has won a place on an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide support services to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.

The professional, technical and administrative support will specifically be for the office's Air Warfare Division.

"Wyle is familiar with the complex challenges facing the leaders of the Air Warfare Division," said Donna Lowe, a vice president in the company's Aerospace Group. "Our employees have long provided valuable support services to the division and across the Naval Aviation Enterprise."

The contract with a value to Wyle of about $59 million, is a cost-plus-fixed-fee arrangement with a term that extends to April 2016 -- or 2019 if all options are exercised.

Under the award, Wyle will compete for task orders to assist the Navy in the planning, resourcing and execution of naval aviation programs, readiness and manpower. The work would be in the areas of financial management, data collection, process research, requirements and capability development and analysis, Navy and joint service warfare requirements, program support planning, and programming and budget execution.

Two other companies will compete for task orders.
