SPARKS, Nev., June 12 (UPI) -- Sierra Nevada Corp. has completed delivery of systems that counter radio-controlled improvised explosive devices to the U.S. Army.
More than 3,000 Baldr were produced under the Army's Individual Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronics Warfare program on an urgent need order worth $56.5 million.
Baldr weighs 8.9 pounds and is worn by an individual soldier and provides "an effective zone of individual protection" against remote-controlled IEDs. SNC's Electronic Warfare and Range Instrumentation business area designed, developed and manufactured the system.

SNC said Microboard Processing Inc. and Aethercomm Inc. were its top suppliers for Baldr.
