SAIC tapped for SPAWAR support

MCLEAN, Va., June 12 (UPI) -- Electronics and communications services and solutions are to be provided to the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic by SAIC.

The work, which will support mission capabilities within SPAWAR's Decision Superiority Portfolio, will be performed as part of a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The award is for one year and includes four one-year option periods. The contract is worth about $900 million for all 15 awardees if all options are exercised.

SAIC has a deep breadth of knowledge and is considered one of the top industry experts for life-cycle support on a variety of platforms," said Tom Watson, customer group senior vice president of Science Applications International Corp. "The work we perform supporting the full life-cycle of C5ISR ultimately helps keep SSC Atlantic on the cutting-edge and strengthens the defense of our nation."

Under the contract, SAIC will provide full life-cycle support for DS Portfolio's mission of developing command-and-control systems and developing applications for command, control, and decision support systems.

SAIC'S work will include research, development, test and evaluation. Also covered will be production and fielding of sustainable, secure, survivable and interoperable command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence and surveillance systems.
