NTS continues work on Scandia Lab's radiation project

CALABASAS, Calif., April 23 (UPI) -- National Technical Systems Inc. is continuing development of a U.S. Energy Department-authorized project to monitor atmospheric radiation using drones.

The contract for the second phase of the Harvester project was given by Sandi National Laboratories and is worth $1.6 million.

NTS' work includes creating and testing systems for airborne collection air samples to check for radiation content as well as systems for testing the air around nuclear facilities.

"We are very proud of our long relationship with Sandia, one of the world's experts in this field, and we believe this new contract with Sandia further demonstrates our expertise in this important market," NTS President and Chief Executive Officer William McGinnis said.

"We offer end-to-end services for UAVs as well as for manned aircraft, in terms of engineering, design, integration and testing. This is an important focus for us and we are committed to expanding our presence in this growing international market."
