ATLANTA, April 18 (UPI) -- Cockpit displays on U.S. Air Force F-22 fighters will receive sustainment services under a new contract given to Rockwell Collins.
The contract is for four years and is worth $14.3 million.
Cockpit displays on 184 of the aircraft will be covered under the arrangement, Rockwell Collins said.
"This contract continues our strong public-private partnership with the Air Force and Lockheed Martin, which has resulted in industry-leading program performance," said Scott Gunnufson, vice president and general manager of Service Solutions for Rockwell Collins.
"Our model of providing sustainment services, while also sharing our technology and skill sets, has added to the reliability of this crucial warfighting platform and has enhanced its operational readiness."
Rockwell Collins said that under the contract it also will train personnel from the U.S. Department of Defense to conduct maintenance, repair and overhaul of the cockpit displays.
Work on the displays will take place in Atlanta and at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
