MCLEAN, Va., April 4 (UPI) -- The U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command has contracted SAIC to provide security engineering support to an anti-terrorism and force protection program.
The prime single-award contract has a one-year period with two one-year options. Its value if all options are exercised would be about $74 million.
Under the award for services in support of the Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Ashore Global Sustainment Program, Science Applications International Corp. will provide services in support of the operational requirements of high value Navy and other government activities where security is of high or vital interest, the company said.
Additional details on the types engineering services that work could entail weren't detailed, however.
The AT/FP Ashore Global Sustainment Program provides centrally managed life-cycle sustainment to Navy shore installations to maintain AT/FP Ashore systems and equipment.
"SAIC is pleased to be selected as the provider of sustainment services to the United States Navy shore installations for AT/FP systems and equipment," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager. "It is a significant milestone in expanding our AT/FP services and capabilities for the Department of Defense worldwide."
