Under the subcontract, Thales will produce and deliver 310 Lucie II D and 16 IR night vision goggles for 30 combat systems. It will also supply combat gear with 300 UHF radios of type SOLAR 400 EG-E, with lithium-ion batteries, charging stations, antenna kits and adapters and cables.

The contract order is worth about $9.8 million and features options for 600 more goggles, 192 IR modules and 600 radios.

Thales' Lucie II D is the standard night vision goggle of the Bundeswehr. Its new upgraded model features an integrated OLED technology based data and video display. It is modular in design, with a wide field of vision of 51 degrees. The Lucie II DIR is created by the simple adaptation of the IR module to the goggle.
