Assessment of U.S. Army security on way

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Management consulting firm Big Sky Associates has been enlisted to assess U.S. Army security measures to protect against insider threats.

The work, commissioned by the Army's deputy chief of staff for intelligence, will be performed as a subcontractor to CSC of Virginia under the service's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions-2 vehicle.

Big Sky said that under the award, it will assess Army measures to protect against threats from personnel and develop a framework to improve the overall strategy.

"This is a critical component of the Army's security infrastructure," said Big Sky Associates Co-founder and Managing Partner John Dillard. "Attacks from insiders, such the infamous Fort Hood shootings and WikiLeaks breach, can be difficult to detect before they occur. But, we can help the Army zero in on threats with a new strategy that integrates human resources, physical security and IT data into a converged risk-management approach.

"Essentially, we can predict threats and risks by using cutting-edge decision analytics for atypical warning indicators."
