NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) -- U.S. company Suspect Detection Systems Inc. says it submitted a tender for a seven-figure contract to supply security equipment to a Southeast Asian country.
The identity of the country wasn't revealed. Suspect Detection Systems, however, it had previously been awarded contracts from a federal agency of the country, which uses Cogito products at national points of entry.
Cogito is a system for identification and interrogation that processes and analyzes collected biometric information and test results in real-time to prevent criminal and terrorism suspects from entering the country.
"The request by the federal agency for Suspect Detection Systems to submit this tender demonstrates the value of our security solutions to existing customers and particularly to federal law enforcement and border control agencies," said Gil Boosidan, chief executive officer of Suspect Detection Systems.
"Our comprehensive system accurately identifies suspects in real-time, contributing to safer, less porous national borders and airports.
"The seven-digit revenues stipulated in the requested tender are expected to yield significant income to Suspect Detection Systems over the next several years."
The company is the only one to bid at the government's request.
