SAIC gets infrastructure protection deal

MCLEAN, Va., July 5 (UPI) -- Support services for infrastructure protection are to be provided by SAIC to the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic.

The prime award to Science Applications International Corp. is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a one-year base performance period and four one-year options. If all options are exercised, the contract will be worth about $228 million to all awardees.

"This contract allows SAIC to expand our reach and provide our technological and engineering expertise in the fields of emergency management and infrastructure protection technology support, a crucial area of our nation's security," said Jim Thigpen, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

Under the contract, SAIC is eligible to provide SSC Atlantic's Enterprise Systems Engineering organization provide a range of services for the development, design, installation, engineering, and technical support for infrastructure protection and emergency management technology projects.

Included would be information assurance, systems engineering and design, logistics and software.
