FORT WORTH, Texas, June 29 (UPI) -- The work stoppage by International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers employed by Lockheed Martin in Texas is over.
Members of AIM's District Lodge 776 voted Friday to accept a contract proposed by the company and end the strike, which began in late April.
"With the new contract in place, we can continue concentrating on the critical requirements of our customers and our important mission of producing the world's most advanced, highest quality combat aircraft at the Fort Worth facility," said Larry Lawson, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics business area.
"We're pleased that the entire Aeronautics team will be back in place and working together again on our important programs."
IAM is the largest union at Lockheed's Fort Worth Facility, where work on the F-35 and F-16 is conducted.
The agreement, reached in talks monitored by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, provides for general wage increases, cash payments, a choice of health plans and other compensation and benefits.
Striking workers are expected to return to their jobs Monday.
