WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., April 11 (UPI) -- A propeller system by the French subsidiary of Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. has won European Aviation Safety Agency certification.

"Hamilton Sundstrand is pleased to celebrate this important certification milestone with Airbus," said Tom Saxe, vice president and general manager, Actuation and Propeller Systems, Hamilton Sundstrand. "Both design and manufacturing innovations have been essential to our production of this advanced propeller system."

Hamilton Sundstrand said the propeller system handles twice the power of existing in-service propellers. Its efficiency peak is close to 90 percent at high cruise speeds.

In addition to the propeller system, Hamilton Sundstrand and its subsidiaries supply the A400M's secondary electrical power distribution center, and its auxiliary power unit.

The aircraft's ram air turbine emergency power system, trimmable horizontal stabilizer actuator and the throttle control assembly are also provided by the company and its subsidiaries.
