LONDON, March 5 (UPI) -- Analysis from British research company Visiongain indicates the C2/C4ISR systems market will expand.
The command-and-control software market will be worth $81.5 billion this year, Visiongain said, as governments increasingly rely on computer-based data networks.
"The importance of (Command and Control; Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) to modern warfare and operational capability will drive governments to continue to invest in advanced C2/C4ISR systems, even as many nations begin to re-evaluate the future focus of their armed forces," A Visiongain defense analyst said in a company release.
A recently issued Visiongain report covering the next decade analyzes and forecasts 17 leading national C2/C4ISR systems markets, along with five regional C2/C4ISR systems markets.
The document provides profiles of 23 leading companies operating within the market, including data from Qinetiq, a major British supplier of technical products, expertise and services to the country's defense and aerospace elements along with Elta Systems, a major subsidiary of Israel's Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd.
