SINGAPORE, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- An unidentified country has placed a $46 million order with Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd. for its 120mm mortar system.
Delivery of the patented Super Rapid Advanced Mortar Systems will be completed by 2014, the company said.
The 120mm SRAMS has a recoil load of less than 26 tons at maximum charge and can be mounted on light-weight 4x4 vehicles for shoot-and-scoot operations. It also has a semi-automatic ammunition loader.
"The 120mm SRAMS offers its operators superior battle proven firepower through its high rate of loading and increased mobility made possible with its extremely low recoil force," said Sew Chee Jhuen, president of ST Kinetics.
"This order is affirmation of the compelling and effective solutions we offer to our customers, which are built upon the high standard and quality we demand of our products."
ST Kinetics is part of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd.
The number of units offered by the unidentified customer wasn't disclosed.
