Homeland Security contract for ManTech

FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- ManTech International has received a U.S. Department of Homeland Security contract for continued information technology services in support of the SAFETY Act.

The congressionally mandated Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology Act of 2002 is a program that provides legal liability protections for providers of anti-terrorism products and services.

ManTech said the contract is worth $5.9 million and has a base period of performance of one year and three option years.

ManTech has supported the Homeland Security Department since the inception of the SAFETY Act and will continue to provide systems engineering, engineering, regulatory compliance, testing, as well as development and business process management support to department's Office of Science and Technology.

"We are proud to continue supporting (Homeland Security's) mission to administer the SAFETY Act," said L. William Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech's Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions Group. "ManTech has been a long time partner with (the department) and looks forward to continuing our support for this important program."
