Its mission payload, provided by Elta, includes a day/night, all-weather target acquisition system. The Stark IRV sensor suite includes advanced ground surveillance radar, an electro-optical system and a line-of-sight or satellite communication system.

IAI said the Stark IRV enables the crew to maintain continuous tracking of multiple targets, providing rapid, flexible and effective capabilities for changing intelligence requirements.

The vehicle is designed to support law enforcement, paramilitary and border security forces engaged with security, combating drug trafficking and smuggling.

The Israeli company is showcasing other systems for homeland security and civil defense at the Latin America Aero and Defense exhibition next week. Included are a hovering aerial vehicle, providing persistence surveillance in urban areas; a new information system that supports the management of first responders in emergency situations such as fires, earthquakes or floods; and an Airborne Early Warning and Control system.

"IAI is offering Brazil and its customers in Latin America a wide range of products, backed by extensive technological knowhow and unique operational experience, all integrated and supporting the concept of know-decide-act," said Yitzhak Nissan, president and chief executive officer of IAI.
