ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- DCS Corp. of Virginia has won a $76.5 million U.S. Army award for technical engineering support for a range of ground vehicles.
The Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Command contract has a four-year performance period.
The company said it is a follow-on award to a TARDEC contract it received in 2004.
"DCS has made significant investments in our engineers and our infrastructure in support of this contract," said Dave Russell, president and chief operating officer of DCS. "We look forward to continuing to provide superior service and advanced technology solutions to TARDEC."
Under the contract DCS will continue to provide technical engineering in support of TARDEC's in-service engineering and Science and Technology missions. These missions emphasize technical engineering services for program managers within PEO-Ground Combat Systems, including unmanned ground vehicles, the Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Mine Resistance Ambush Protection vehicles, Heavy Brigade Combat Team, robotics system Joint Project Office and TARDEC Army and Technology Objective and Advanced Technology Demonstrator programs in the ground vehicle domain.
The technical engineering services include life-cycle software engineering to the Program Managers in the acquisition and development of their main weapon systems platforms and systems engineering on projects within TARDEC.
