Defense center gets Northrop support

HERNDON, Va., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Manpower Data Center has chosen Northrop Grumman for management, software development, data management support and research and analysis.

The task order, awarded under the CIO-SP2i contract, has a total program value of $83.4 million. It features a six-month base period and four option years.

"We have forged a tremendous partnership with our DMDC customer that is founded on our exceptional past performance," said Greg Schmidt, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Training Solutions Division. "We look forward to continuing to provide the Department of Defense with the innovative solutions that are required in the 21st century."

Northrop said its team will work with the DMDC to support uniformed services personnel across their three lines of business: identity, entitlements and benefits and decision support. Work will involve software development for delivery of services, including Web-based products, physical access and identity management systems, analysis of data for improving services, provisioning of benefits and delivery of decision data.
